Of the 38,429 people living in Amador County in 2019, 46.3 percent (17,789) were women and 53.7 percent (20,640) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Gold Country Today.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 12,798-to-9,538. In the 65 and over age range, there were 5,349 females and 4,897 males.
