Amador County issued the following announcement.
Amador County Treasurer-Tax Collector Michael E. Ryan is reminding property owners that they have until Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 5 p.m., to make the first installment
payment of their annual secured property taxes for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The first installment of secured property taxes was due and payable on November 1, 2020, and will
become delinquent if not paid by 5 p.m. on December 10, 2020; thereafter a 10% delinquent penalty will be added. State Law sets this delinquent date. Ryan notes that payments
may be made by mail sent to the Amador County Tax Collector, 810 Court Street, Jackson, CA 95642, and must be postmarked by December 10, 2020 in order to avoid late
penalties. For the convenience of taxpayers, a payment drop box is located on the outside wall of the alcove to the immediate left of the main entrance to the Amador County
Administration Center, 810 Court Street, Jackson. Additionally, payments may be made with a credit card or debit card over the telephone by calling 1-800-609- 4599. Credit card,
debit card, and e-check payments may also be made over the Internet by visiting the web-sites shown on your tax bill. There are additional fees associated with payments by credit
card, debit card and e-check. At this time, the Tax Collector’s Office is requesting that taxpayers not make in-person cash, credit card or debit card payments. Instead of cash
payments, please use a personal check or obtain a cashier’s check or money order and mail timely. As you may have heard, the Amador County Administration Center has been
closed to the public. However, the Tax Collector’s Office remains fully staffed and operational. If you need to contact the Office, please do so by phone or by email. Amador County
property tax information is available on-line. To view your tax information, or print a copy of your property tax bill, visit www.amadorgov.org/Tax, and select “View Property Tax Bill”.
