Amador County issued the following announcement.
Amador County Public Health confirms one hundred and forty-nine new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths due to COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update. The individuals who
passed were 2 males, 1 in his 50s and 1 Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) inmate in his 60s. MCSP inmates are not included in the total death tally on Amador’s dashboard. The
new cases include 70 males and 79 females, 12 children under the age of 18, 75 aged 18-49, 29 aged 50-64, 33 over 65 years of age; 48 residing in Ione, 48 living in Jackson, 10
living in Pine Grove, 19 in Pioneer, 12 in Plymouth/surrounding areas, 9 residing in Sutter Creek/Amador City, and 3 in Volcano. Twenty one cases, including MCSP inmates, are
currently hospitalized.
Last week, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) capacity for the Greater Sacramento Region, which includes Amador County, dropped below the threshold of 15%, which activated the
Regional Stay-at-Home Order in Amador County effective 11:59 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020. This order will remain in effect for a minimum of 3 weeks into the New Year.

COVID-19 vaccine may be arriving as soon as the end of this week. This first shipment of vaccine is designated for front-line health care workers and medical first responders as

As new cases and hospital admissions continue to escalate, Amador Public Health urges the community to stay home as much as possible. Practice consistent prevention
measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19: wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and ensure frequent hand hygiene. Avoid mixing with others outside your
household. Persons over age 65 and those with chronic health conditions that put them at higher risk for severe COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home as much as possible. Stay
home if you are sick even with mild symptoms. If you have been directed to isolate or quarantine, please follow all instructions. To view current Amador COVID-19 statistics, please
